Between wild Africa and mythical Bahia, Cravos follows the steps of Brazilian photographer Christian Cravo on his trips to Uganda, Tanzania, and Namibia. Christian tries to overcome great traumas suffered in a short period of time: his father’s death, Cravo Neto, a great exponent of Brazilian photography, disagreements with his family about the destiny of his father’s works, and the loss of many friends in the earthquake in Haiti, the country he photographed for 10 years.
Among pains and memories, we watch the complex relationship of three generations of the Cravo’s family. Grandfather’s testimonials, Cravo Junior, a modernist sculptor active at age 95, are added to records left by Cravo Neto in letters, pictures and videos putting together a chain of conflicts and affections.
